To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. In addition, to be a good fit for the Optician opportunity, you will have:
  • 2 to 3 years of experience as an optician.

  • ABOC certification is preferred.
  • Proven strong customer service skills.
  • Excellent problem solving abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including strong relationship building skills.
  • The ability to adjust priorities and manage time wisely in a fast-paced environment.
Additional considerations:
  • You'll need to be able to be on your feet most of the day or moving on the sales floor or stock room.
  • You'll need to be able to maneuver merchandise and lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Physical activities include engaging in repetitive motions, bending, kneeling, twisting, stretching, squatting, pushing, pulling, stooping, lifting, climbing, carrying, walking, reaching and/or using a step stool on a frequent basis.
Typically you will work in the dispensary from 8 or 8:30 AM to 5 PM Monday through Thursday. On Fridays you will work from home or work in the dispensary part of the day; however, the dispensary is not open to the public on Fridays.

Reporting to the Optical Manager, you will be responsible for executing all facets of dispensary operations, including but not limited to; the daily operation of the retail area, fitting and dispensing ophthalmic products, maintaining and assessing inventory levels, ordering ophthalmic products and contact lenses, and assisting with tactical and strategic planning.

Ensuring our patients have the best experience is a priority. You'll be expected to learn and support the policies and procedures necessary for opening, closing, and operating the dispensary. More specifically, you will:
  • Meet and/or exceed pre-established company goals.
  • Perform all responsibilities as an Optician.
  • Listen and respond immediately with an appropriate level of concern to all patient and practice issues.
  • Analyze, solve and correct customer service issues.
  • Ensure best practices are being delivered so that patients are satisfied and make their purchases with the optical dispensary.
  • Communicate directly and promptly any concerns related to patient or practice satisfaction to the optical manager.
  • Foster positive working relationships with the practice doctors, leadership and staff.
  • Weekly and monthly optical performance reporting to the optical manager.
  • You may, from time to time, be required to perform tasks not specifically listed here, but the company will ensure that you have received adequate training and support to facilitate such assigned tasks.
