To be a good fit for this opportunity, you will have:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree is a plus.
  • 3-5 years of experience directly supervising 5+ people, and demonstrated skills in leadership, organization, communication, and cross functional teamwork.
  • Experience with warehouse operations in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3-5 years of experience in organizing and maintaining inventory.
  • Computer proficiency, including advanced skills in MS Excel and experience with computerized inventory systems.
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing is preferred but not required.
  • Skills in organization, prioritizing work, and multi-tasking.
  • An analytical mindset.
  • The ability to:
    • Read/write and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
    • Read and write English Language well.
    • Communicate effectively in a courteous and professional manner, both verbally and in writing.
    • Work in a role with measurable standards and a dynamic production environment.
    • Engage with the workforce and create a positive environment and culture.
    • Work overtime and Saturdays when necessary.
  • Pride in your work and a commitment to accuracy.
You need to know:
  • You may work with and around chemicals.
  • The role may require sitting and/or standing for extended periods.
  • You'll need to be able to lift and move up to 15 lbs. to waist height on a regular basis.
  • We are customer driven, so we'll look to you to be flexible about working overtime as needed, possibly including weekends.

You will oversee 15 people on the lens picking team, meeting with managers to update KPIs, spending time on the floor with your team and working in our proprietary LMS system. In addition, you will:
  • Direct department team leads to encourage successful production environments
  • Interact and motivate the workforce
  • Conduct daily shift meetings
  • Communicate department, team, and individual goals and results
  • Deliver Operational Performance results; including productivity and efficiency targets
  • Execute daily work plans by adjusting the workforce to meet goals
  • Manage and report employee performance; including productivity, safety, and quality
  • Monitor and manage employee time, attendance, and payroll
  • Identify training and cross training opportunities and implement as necessary
  • Review departments performance KPI’s, report results, and adjust as needed to encourage and maintain productivity
  • Enforce systems, policies, procedures and productivity standards for all department employees and ensure corrective actions are administered when necessary
  • Ensure inventory and department space is maintained in an organized and clean manner at all times
  • Create and maintain relationships with lens and frame vendors to ensure the highest level of support for the facility
  • Maintain appropriate records and reports as directed
