To be a good fit for the Lab Technician - Mounter opportunity, you will have:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of related work experience, such as in manufacturing; experience in lab settings is preferred, and optical experience would be ideal.
  • Experience performing detail work involving finger dexterity is strongly preferred.
  • High mechanical aptitude.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask and set priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Depth perception, manual dexterity and hand strength.
  • The ability to:
    • Meet measurable standards (such as quotas) in a dynamic production environment.
    • Add, subtract and understand decimal sequencing.
    • Follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
You need to know:
  • You may work with and around chemicals.
  • You'll need to be able to lift and move up to 15 lbs. to waist height on a regular basis.
  • We are customer driven, so we'll look to you to be flexible about working overtime as needed, possibly including weekends.

Role Overview

You will put three different types of frames together, inserting edged lenses to ensure proper fit and alignment, and inserting lenses into the frame while ensuring proper fit. This role requires that you have the vision to align very small marks and the hand strength to insert the lenses. We'll expect you to maintain high standards of production, and the pace is very fast.

Keys to Success

We'll provide training, but change will be ongoing, and your own role may evolve. We're looking for adaptable and flexible people who can excel in a fast-paced production environment. In addition, in order to be an outstanding Lab Technician - Machine Operator, you will:
  • Bring a proactive approach to learning and getting up to speed quickly.
  • Support our commitment to getting Quality Right the First Time.
  • Achieve goals independently and also contribute as a team player.
  • Manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Remain flexible and adaptable as processes change.
