To be a good fit for the Tinter - 2nd Shift opportunity, you will have:

• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• 2-5 years of work experience, preferably in a production environment. Optical lab experience would be ideal. 
• Technical aptitude, and the ability to work with fine detail.
• Dependability and reliability.
• The ability to:
  • Work independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Write short correspondence.
  • Communicate effectively in a team environment.
  • Perform basic addition and subtraction.

You need to know:

• This position requires that you stand and walk for the duration of any shift.
• You'll need to use close vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
• You'll work with and around chemicals. We'll provide personal protective equipment (PPE), but the work area does get wet and dirty.
• You'll need to be able to lift and move up to 20 lbs. to waist height on a regular basis.

Your primary focus will be to accurately tint all lenses going through the tinting department. Duties in this position are usually repetitive, requiring analysis and use of individual judgment. Specific duties for this position include ensuring that tint baths have proper temperature, following job specifications for tint instructions/color, and ensuring color consistency.

More specifically, you will:

• Review work ticket instructions and tint lenses accordingly.
• Place required lenses on metal trays and put them in the oven. When complete, you'll remove them from the oven and sort them into trays.
• Receive and sort trays appropriately.
• Mark and spot lenses for gradient tints.
• Remove all markings from lenses prior to tinting.
• Check lenses to ensure color and intensity match.

Additional responsibilities will include:

• Preparing UV and tint baths as appropriate, making sure that tint baths are at the appropriate temperature.
• Performing other duties within the tinting department or other areas as assigned.
• Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
• Observing all company policies, rules, and safety practices.
