To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. In addition, to be a good fit for the QA Data Specialist opportunity, you will have:
  • A high school diploma or associate's degree in degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or similar is preferred
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred in Statistics, Mathematics, or Data Science (commensurate experience in programming or data reporting.)

  • A demonstrated ability to:
    • Draw, from the data, a story that offers insight into lab operations and output
    • Identify trends
    • Translate complex, technical information into language that is accessible to non-analytical people
  • Strong quantitative skills, including data manipulation, statistical analysis, and visualization.
  • Strong analytical, math and computer skills, including:

    • Database experience
    • Ability to effectively learn new tools
  • MS Office Suite knowledge and preferred ability to build presentations (i.e. charts, graphs, slides)
  • Experience in a lab setting is a plus, but not required

As QA Data Specialist, you will join the Quality team and directly support lab operations and your supervisor, the Quality Manager. Daily, we begin with a Management meeting and then you will dive into the data, pulling reports, looking for trends and constructing the story of what is happening in the lab. Some discoveries will require you to take a deeper look, drilling down to whether an issue was coming from a machine, an operator, or something else and sharing that information with leadership. Your first order of business will be to help the lab get up and running efficiently and ensuring processes are in place to scale operations. 

Additional duties may include:
  • Partnering closely with leadership to produce data on an as-needed basis
  • Communicating with Quality Associates on the floor to identify breaks and defects and discover cause through the data
  • Participating in special projects as needed, such as helping become ISO 13485 certified
  • Playing a key role in events/activities; performing root cause analysis and suggesting corrective actions
  • Conducting prediction and trend analyses to anticipate the changes in the lab, and to enable better decision making.
  • Participating in weekly and monthly quality meetings; putting together presentations to illustrate what the data shows
  • Completing a daily review of customer returns; analyzing for trends; pulling specific jobs for review
  • Monitoring compliance and compliance testing
  • Ensuring the lab is meeting FDA requirements
  • Effectively communicate statistical analyses, results, and implications to technical and non-technical audiences.
