  • Basic math skills.

    • Learn quickly.
    • Read and follow instructions accurately.
    • Meet measurable standards in a dynamic production environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Experience in production environments is a plus.
You need to know:
  • This position requires that you stand and walk for the majority of any shift.
  • You'll work with and around chemicals.
  • Your work area may be wet and/or dirty and or have a strong smell.

Reporting to the Coating Manager, you will join a team that includes two other Chemical Technicians, one working each shift. You'll support a process we call "hard coat dip-dip," which puts a protective coating on lenses. An important part of your job will be calculating the correct amount of chemicals necessary for different applications.

More specifically, you will:
  • Follow all safety guidelines and practices, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.
  • Ensure the test bench is clean and organized.
  • Ensure all chemical containers are properly labeled.
  • Maintain and submit a log.
  • Maintain all related chemicals within the DIP coating process.
  • Track and analyze test results to insure compliance to standards.
  • Troubleshoot basic mechanical problems with equipment, and notify a maintenance technician.
  • Change coating in accordance with the laboratory’s coating schedule.
  • Receive and store all chemicals related to the DIP coating process.
  • Log and maintain equipment performance data.
  • And more.
