• Experience with databases (Access, IDEA, etc.) is preferred.

For now, during Covid, you will work remotely, and you may come into the office on occasion. However, this position may eventually require you to be living close to and working 100% in the Dallas, TX offices. Reporting to the Operations Tax Manager, you will join a team that includes other Tax Analysts and Senior Tax Analysts. You'll support Essilor of America and various businesses for timely and accurate compliance with state and local taxing authorities in the area of sales tax. This will include using Vertex software to achieve maximum efficiency for sales and use compliance and exemption certificate management. You'll also provide timely remittance of property tax and business license payments.

More specifically, you will:

• Prepare and file sales and use tax, business license and other tax-related returns and reconciliations.
• Assist the Tax Manager with tax compliance questions and issues.
• Research and respond to complex sales tax questions from internal and external customers.
• Review fixed asset acquisitions for proper treatment and application of sales/use taxes.
• Provide training to internal customers on sales and use tax.
• Research potential sales tax issues (i.e. exemptions, etc.) that apply to company transactions.
• Research and respond to notices related to tax filings.

• Perform defined monthly tasks, applying reason and care to ensure all activities are completed.
• Assist the Tax Manager in:
  • Developing SOPs for compliance and audit.
  • Developing SLAs and reporting results to customers.
  • Preparing for state and local audits.
• Communicate sales tax law changes to the business as required.
