To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. In addition, to be a good fit for the Mold-Film Assembly Operator opportunity, you will have:
  • 1-3 years of experience in a production environment, ideally in working with chemicals; optical or inspection experience is helpful  
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent  
  • Ability to produce quality work at standard required quantities or above
  • Ability to detect obvious defects
  • Ability to understand and follow both verbal and written standard operating procedures in English
  • An unwavering commitment to safety and following all safety requirements, including maintaining a clean work area
  • Good hand-eye coordination with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to thrive and excel in a diverse, multicultural environment
When performing the duties of your role, you will be required to:
  • Wear protective eyewear, protective gloves, aprons and/or smocks 
  • Occasionally be exposed to hot and/or cold conditions, solvents and chemical fumes
  • Frequently sit, stand and use hands or fingers to handle material
  • Occasionally climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch
  • Lift up to 50 pounds
You will work an assigned Monday-Friday day shift between the hours of 6 AM and 6 PM. You'll also need the flexibility to work overtime as required to meet production demands.

Reporting to the Production Manager and working closely with the Assembly Area Leader, you will join the Manufacturing department where you'll be responsible for the cleaning and drying of gaskets and for cleaning film through a series of ultrasonic tanks, then hanging the film to dry. You will perform the assembly of the gasket, film and molds by placing the film in the groove of the gasket and placing the front and back molds in the gasket according to the standard operating procedures. Finally, you'll use the metal tag program to process each assembly. The entire process is performed in a cleanroom environment requiring cleanroom garments.

More specifically, your essential functions will include:
  • Ensuring that molds, film and gaskets are clean
  • Removing damaged molds for further supervisor evaluation
  • Identifying and using the correct gasket for each mold
  • Identifying and using the correct film for each assembly
  • Using all required tools and equipment to perform the assembly process 
  • Inspecting film for defects before assembly and dispositioning the defective film accordingly
  • Maintaining and logging information correctly to the daily program
Additional responsibilities will include:
  • Maintaining the cleanroom booths and all other tools clean per the cleanroom procedure
  • Maintaining accurate production reports as required
  • Using the proper cleanroom cleaning wipes
  • Keeping maintenance up to date with problems
You may also be required to perform other production tasks relating to the lens manufacturing processes.
