To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. In addition, to be a good fit for the Mobile Clinic Driver opportunity, you will have:
  • A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record required; a valid CDL is a plus, but not required. 
  • Must be willing and capable of driving 37 ft. mobile clinic (a skills assessment will be completed during the interview process).
  • Strong learning acumen with the drive and desire to learn to work within the clinic. Optometric or Ophthalmic clinical practice experience is desired but not required. 
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem solving, organizational, administrative and customer service skills.
  • Patience and persistence.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet schedule and workflow demands.
  • Ability to interact cooperatively with diverse populations and different personalities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and/or Google Docs applications; Salesforce experience preferred.
  • Understanding of HIPAA compliance preferred.
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent; college coursework or an associate or bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Spanish or other bilingual skills a plus.
In addition, punctuality is critical to this role. You must be reliable and on time, without exception. This is a full-time opportunity with fluctuating starting times, depending on the mobile schedule. Generally, you will work Monday - Friday but must be available to work weekends and non-traditional hours with notice.

Note: You must clear a thorough background check and driving record evaluation in order to work with children and drive the mobile clinic.

Role Overview
Reporting to the Kids Vision for Life Area Lead, you will be responsible for driving the mobile clinic to various sites as per the clinic schedule. Additionally, you will help execute the Essilor Vision Foundation’s (EVF) vision programs in conjunction with the EVF staff, contractors, school district personnel, and/or other agencies and organizations.

The mobile clinic visits schools and does community events. Other days are spent on manufacturing the glasses, vehicle maintenance, administrative duties, team meetings, etc.  
 
Role Details
Your primary responsibility will be driving, stocking and monitoring the mobile clinic and related optical equipment. You will ensure the clinic is fully stocked before each event, drive it to the event, do set up and break down, making sure the equipment is safely locked down and ready for transport, then drive it back to the lab where it is stored. While the clinic is underway, you may work at various stations, for example helping children pick frames, retesting, etc., and will serve as a technician, fabricating glasses. More specifically, in the following areas, you will:
 
Planning
  • Ensure the mobile clinic stays on the required maintenance schedule (oil changes, generator checks, etc.).
  • Ensure all equipment is operating properly.
  • Be responsible for scheduling mobile clinic and equipment repairs as necessary.
  • Prepare frame and lens inventory for vision clinics; place reorders ongoing to ensure efficient processing on-board.
  • Ensure necessary screening tools and equipment are available for outreach events; maintain and order rentals as needed.
  • Utilize the ordering platform to ensure the mobile clinic is always properly stocked with consumables (lens, cases, lens cloths, exam forms, etc.).
  • With the KVFL Area Leader, oversee and execute follow-up dispensing schedules as related to delivery and fitting of finished glasses.
  • Following each clinic event, prepare/clean mobile clinic for the next event. 
Execution
  • Drive the mobile clinic to the scheduled locations by the scheduled time.
  • Perform clinic setup and break down.
  • During clinics, having primary responsibility is fabricating glasses.
  • During clinics, having secondary responsibility is submitting glasses orders (manufactured on the clinic and sent to the lab) in Salesforce or online ordering platform, as needed.
  • Gain proficiency in all clinic stations. You will learn to fill in as needed to ensure patient flow is not disrupted, particularly during COVID when social distancing demands require limited staff onboard. This includes the use of ophthalmic testing equipment.
  • Assist in training volunteers.
  • Assist in checking in completed glasses ordered from the lab and dispensing glasses at schools.
  • Assist as back-up to the Area Lead, as assigned.
  • Actively engage in Essilor of America's shared values and mission.
Administrative tasks
  • Maintain mobile clinic/equipment maintenance and repair report.
  • Establish and maintain territory reporting in Salesforce to support territory KPIs.
  • Report and track any maintenance or equipment issues immediately to the Area Lead.
  • Report and track mobile clinic utilization, mobile clinic status, and equipment status.
  • Identify and assess quality improvement practices and performance.
  • Attend and participate in all required meetings.
