Chesapeake Optical Lab is one of the newest additions to the family of Essilor Industrial Hub labs. It currently produces 3,000 orders a day, supplying labs across the country. The facility has recently been approved for multiple future expansions that will bring growth across all departments and expand the daily processing capabilities to 6,000 orders a day.

To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. In addition, to be a good fit for the Production Associate - Frames opportunity, you will have:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • High mechanical/technical aptitude.
  • 1+ years of related work experience, such as in manufacturing/data entry/order entry; experience in lab settings is preferred but not required.
  • The ability to:
    • Read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
    • Read and write English well.
    • Work in a role with measurable standards within a dynamic production environment.
    • Work as a team player and/or independently without supervision. Work overtime and Saturdays when necessary.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Depth perception and manual dexterity.
  • Pride in your work and a commitment to striving for accuracy.
  • A sense of urgency.
  • Adequate computer skills and become proficient with the company’s computer programs and OPC scanner.
  • Experience in an optical lab production environment is a plus but not required.

As a Production Associate in Frame Management, you will:
  • Put frames away in a bin/sorting system.
  • Pair lenses and frames together, ensure the order matches the product and send along the process line.
  • Cross-train and help in other areas of the department/facility if applicable and as directed by Supervisor or GM.
  • Abide by Lean manufacturing standards.
  • Meet expected quotas in a fast-paced environment.
In this role you will:
  • Regularly stand/walk for the duration of shift.
  • Work in an environment where the noise level is usually moderate.
