This is a remote role requiring travel, primarily to various labs, approximately one week per month (25%). To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. In addition, to be a good fit for the Process Engineering Group Leader opportunity, you will have:

  • 10 years of experience in similar industries or technologies (i.e. the optical industry, lab setting, and/or lens coating technologies); automated manufacturing process experience is preferred  Quick question for you - click here
  • 2-3 years of leadership experience, including leading and influencing cross-functional teams
  • A high level of demonstrated technical proficiency and aptitude with the ability to extract and take advantage of data to drive conclusions and define needs (i.e., problem-solving skills, scientific methodology, statistical analysis, etc.)
  • Strong computer proficiency including an understanding of Microsoft Office Suite products, Gmail, and statistical software tools, as well as the ability to learn other platforms as needed
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, including the ability to work and communicate effectively in a team and multicultural environment
  • The ability to work effectively with all members of working groups, with a variety of skill levels and expertise

You will join the Techno Club -- a permanent group of experts in their fields who work together for the improvement of given industrial processes and their implementation across a regional network of industrial optical labs in the U.S. in order to achieve operational excellence and BSC targets such as quality, first-pass yield, equipment efficiency ration, lead time, and more.

Reporting to the Techno Club Leader seated in Dallas, as Process Engineering Group Leader, you will work with R&D, engineers on the team and in production facilities, production managers and other experts, serving as the communications hub and project manager driving process improvements and standardization for all coating processes. Quick question for you - click here Project teams typically have 6-10 members, some of whom are shared resources. While you won't have direct authority over team members, you will be responsible for keeping projects moving through your strong communication skills, technical understanding, and by influencing without formal authority. As part of your specific tasks, you will:
  • Manage the Techno Club Group in the US for all coating processes
  • Share best practices on industrial performance
  • Ensure standardization and versioning of PCPs & SOPs
  • Contribute to GE road map
  • Define laboratory and workshop priorities and actions, closely working with GE on relative technical priorities
  • Define training needs, cascade-up and organize technical training with the support of GE
  • Close feedback and communication with GE on process/techno/standards
  • Process standardization - GE version will be the target
  • Provide efficiency of support (Industrial project, NPI...)
  • Industrial indicators of each lab (Yield, EER, CpK, water-saving, unit consumable consumption, etc.)
