If you complement your background in warehouse operations and inventory control with foundational leadership experience in a lead, coordinator or similar role and the ability to train and coach team members and meet daily goals, the role of Inventory Control Supervisor offers you some compelling opportunities. You will:

Reporting to the General Manager at our Lewisville Distribution Center, as Inventory Supervisor, you will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of warehouse activities including providing direct supervision to warehouse employees. Throughout each day, you will adjust priorities to ensure the team is meeting daily receiving, shipping and warehouse schedules, and perform hands-on warehouse tasks as required to meet goals. You will also participate with management in setting inventory goals and strategy, budget attainment and in implementing new procedures and policies. Some of your key responsibilities will include:
  • Monitoring daily activity levels and performance
  • Adjusting work priorities and assignments throughout the day to ensure schedules are met
  • Providing coaching, counseling, training and personnel development planning for all employees on your team; identifying improvement opportunities; teambuilding
  • Implementing modifications in work processes to meet long-term performance and service requirements
  • Communicating with management, operations, customer service personnel, customers and others as needed to resolve issues or improving service
  • Actively participating with the Supply Chain team on major issues impacting service, cost, etc.
  • Working on special projects as required and assigned by management

  • Strong learning ability and a continuous improvement mindset
  • Optical industry experience is a plus but not required
More about the Role
In addition to the responsibilities described under The Role tab, specific tasks will include:
  • Supervising the daily activities of the Inventory Control Team, assuring the right accuracy of the stock on hand information (quantity and country of origin)
  • Responsibility for evaluating inventory needs and implementing processes to meet those needs
  • Handling all inventory management-related tasks in the warehouse
  • Maintaining inventory levels, making monthly inventory reports, recording and labeling inventory items to be used in the future and maintaining accurate records
  • Working with the Supply Chain Team to make sure that inventory is on route, on shelves and well-stocked
  • Communicating directly with customer service regarding customer complaints and inspections
  • Identifying inventory deficiencies and training needs regarding inventory within the facility
  • Assisting with the development of inventory-related training programs to correct inventory deficiencies, and training cross-functional associates to correct inventory-related issues
  • Managing, inputting and supporting SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures) for the DDC BOS (ISO Business Operating System)
  • Developing ideas for work simplification, cost reduction, process improvement methods, scheduling and labor hour planning
  • Making sure audits are completed, as required weekly, monthly, quarterly or annually

You will work a Monday - Friday day shift with the flexibility to occasionally work Saturday.
