The campus includes five industry-leading labs: Custom Eyes, dbl Labs, Epic Labs Precision Optics, and a glass lab. As Quality Manager, you will:
  • Develop and initiate standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation.
  • Provide quality technical support to other functional areas, such as R&D and manufacturing.
  • Provide instruction and training to the Inspectors and QA group.
  • Prepare, present and communicate quality issues and developments.
  • Perform data analysis, including statistical analysis, and determine corrective actions.
  • Develop problem-solving techniques and implementation.
  • Lead and participate in improvement projects.
  • Assume responsibility for:
    • ISO initiatives and certifications.
    • Calibration of testing equipment.
    • The QA Lab and its functions.
    • The training management system (TMS).
    • EFQM implementation and control.
  • Build and maintain relations with other supervisors and managers to discuss and solve various production and quality issues.
  • Interact with all departments and all employee levels.
  • Matrix reporting with Zone Director of Quality & CI and provide ongoing communication with Zone quality aspects of specifications, customer complaints, supplier issues, etc.
  • Communicate with customers.
  • Communicate with other manufacturing sites.
In general, you will work regular business hours, although we run three shifts and there will be occasions when you will need to interact with each shift. You will work on-site and we have protocols in place to ensure the health and safety of all employees.

More about your success
To excel in this role you will grasp and own the quality big picture for the campus, and also take a hands-on approach to leading programs and processes. We're looking for a professional who understands the nuances of change management, including the patience and persistence it requires. You'll spend a good deal of time in the production areas of each facility, and you'll find that employees are open to positive change. A collaborative approach will work well, although there also may be times when you need to be assertive.

In addition, to excel in this role, you will:
  • Coach, counsel, and inspire operational leaders and employees, sharing your passion for quality with them.
