To be a good fit for the Warehouse Associate I opportunity, you will have:
  • Satisfactory work performance and attendance in previous jobs

  • The ability to:
    • Communicate effectively to managers and peer on a daily basis
    • Meet and exceed production goals
    • Correctly use RF devices (scanners) as needed; experience with scanners is a plus
    • Basic reading and mathematics ability
    • Maintain very high levels of accuracy in work assignments
    • Work cooperatively as a member of a team and participates in team meetings
  • Inventory and warehouse management system experience would be helpful
You should be willing and able to work overtime as needed. We look forward to your flexibility in accepting varying work assignments, which may include a reasonable amount of overtime as well as some holidays and weekends

In addition to following a safety-first approach, we are currently observing COVID-19 protocols to ensure the health and safety of visitors and employees. That means you will need to wear closed-toe shoes and a face covering if and when you interview.

For employees, we provide masks, perform daily temperature checks and follow social distancing. You'll need to follow safety guidelines for dress. However, most Associates wear closed-toe shoes (like tennis shoes), shorts or pants, and tee shirts.

Internally your title will be Warehouse Associate I. We'll start you with an eight-week training program. Once up to speed, you will perform a variety of warehousing functions, including but not limited to receiving, put away, scanning, picking, labeling, packing, assembly of cartons, and cleaning work areas.

Most typically, you will pick product (optical frames, lenses and contact lenses), put them into boxes on a cart for shipping, and then replace inventory. A wrist scanner will let you know what to do and where to go next. You will work on several different teams as needed. Below is a sampling of responsibilities on the different teams.

Receiving/put away will include:
  • Putting lenses in correct inventory locations and rotating stock
  • And more
Order selection will include:
  • Picking orders for customers and branches
  • Informing managers, supervisors or coordinators of stock-outs
  • And more
Shipping will include:
  • Verifying orders and correcting discrepancies
  • Boxing orders in correct containers or boxes with correct documentation and applying address labels
  • And more
In addition, you will perform any and all functions deemed necessary by management.

To excel in this role you will establish a reputation among teammates for being reliable and prompt. One of your first big challenges will be to get to know the layout of the 300,000 foot² warehouse. Most assignments will involve standing or walking for most of the shift. It's not unusual for Associates to walk five to seven miles during a shift -- great if you're counting steps!

We'll provide training, but change will be ongoing, and your own role may evolve. We're looking for adaptable and flexible people who can excel in a fast-paced environment. In addition, in order to be an outstanding Warehouse Associate I, you will:
  • Maintain a strong commitment to safety, including keeping workspaces clean and orderly
